Not interested in how I look, I just have some mobility issues and the step helps. As far as the other comments go, I love the truck. The power tail gate is apparently the only way to get the bed step. Lastly, I have the 801a package, torsen, rear applique, etc.
Check out the link I posted there, they have a few options for your truck that might help you out. If it's not working, it's Carid.com

That’s bogus. I’d skip the step next time because I don’t need it and it makes the tailgate so heavy that I can barely take it off by myself. Since I also dislike the moonroof and have no interest in a power tailgate, it doesn’t chap my ass, but it’s an obvious dumb move by marketing.

I’m 33, relatively healthy/fit/active etc and I use the tailgate step all the time. Not the handle part but I walk up the step frequently

Maybe it is because I’m short??????

5’-8” for reference and I can hop in the bed without it.

What the heck is that massive wood wall in your front yard?
That would be an 8' privacy fence with a 3' retaining wall. The fence is necessary because I have a swimming pool. Fences like mine are very common in N. Texas. It's not the front yard. We have a rear entry garage with an alley, also very common in N. Texas.

Ahhh, that makes more sense. It looked like the front yard to my brain.
