Does anyone know if there is any proposed development of a diesel powered Ford Raptor?

In particular, I am interested in whether or not the the Ford Duratorq -- ADJ V6 / V8 engines have ever been considered for installation, or was ever done as a custom engine swap?

I like Diesel engines, but since FEDs/EPA now require all that pollutions crap, i.e. DPF, EGRs, Ultra Low Sodium Diesel , UREA they have ruined it for the average consumer. Yea, you can do an aftermarket tune, & delete DPF and you'll have a beast on your hands, but you will void the warranty and in my book it's not worth it. To re-build or replace a blown diesel engine costs around $15K.

I did love my 09 F250 w/6.4 PSD, but maintenance & fuel costs were significantly higher, and it just wasn't worth it to me.

BTW-I haven't heard about Ford even consider pursuing this endeavor for the US market.

I've had a few people think my 6.2 is a diesel. Smdh I'd take the 6.7 or the Eco. I just love turbos.

The concept of a diesel Raptor is great - more torque and better MPGs.

But the reality is...

It'll never happen. For many reasons including:

* Diesels are HEAVY
* Diesels are EXPENSIVE
* A new diesel motor would probably have to be developed for Raptor use (fuggedaboudit - it's too expensive).

I have a regular 1991 7.3 diesel that thing has some balls but it is less then it use to be. IMO if you went diesel you would have to go mid engine.
