All depends on how long the OP plans to keep it. I'm usually in a truck about 5-6 years and I average 20k miles a year.

Not just how long, but what priorities are. If you are really only interested in the power train, extended warranty doesn't get you much. As well, if you plan on a lot of mods and a tune, you're probably voiding your warranty.

edit: I like the idea of a warranty, that you don't don't have to worry about unforseen expenses, but for the most part, you're going to have quite a few of those before your extended warranty pays off. I'm going without for now.

I took the Flood Ford printout with me a couple of weeks ago when I picked my new raptor up.. the finance guy showed me his screen for Ford protect... he sold it to me at his cost, but it was still more than Flood... I wondered if there were other costs on top of what is listed in the cost grid for Flood....?

You definitely got overcharged. I shopped around thanks to this forum and Flood is the best priced for Ford contract . Cancel the present one and buy from Flood. Also remember that this is not 6+3 years. I got 6 years with zero deductible for about 2 grand if I remember correctly

I've had cam phasers twice on my truck so far, 20k miles and 50k miles. I'm at 67k miles now and I plan on keeping it until about 125k miles. I've had the preventative cam phaser reprogramming (21B10), but it caused the engine shudder so it's getting the 21N08 reprogramming to remove it. If the updated part in it doesn't do the trick, I fully expect the problem to return one or two more times based on my previous intervals. Repairs for cam phaser run around $3,500. Even one occurrence will more than pay for my ESP and that's not even mentioning that I've already used it twice for moonroof track problems. You can always cash in the pro-rated amount left on your warranty if you want to sell the truck before the warranty runs out. Let's face it, it's a Ford not a Toyota and has more and more electronics as the models evolve. I don't see a time in my future when I won't have a warranty.

Anyone who bought esp from flood ford, were you satisfied with your purchase?
Read through the dozens of posts on this same subject.

As far as waiting to purchase, I was able to leverage (within the first 3/36) the extended rental car warranty on my ESP plan against the SA who told me they had no cars available for loaners.
Just buy know, save $100, and it will transfer if you sell it.

I have a question. I am not trusting them but I was just told by the dealer I bought my gen 2 when I went to get my prorated refund back from the warranty I purchased on my gen 2. he said that flood ford is a dealership and in order to have the warranty activated the dealership that sells the product has to inspect the vehicle prior to ford validating the warranty. is there any truth to that. if thats the case id have to drive from michigan to New Jersey where flood ford is to actually make that warranty valid...

I call BS by this guy but does anyone have any knowledge of this.

That sounds pretty nasty, if you wanted to refund the remainder of your warranty i believe you would call flood ford, they would cancel it and send you a check in the mail 4-6 weeks later.

Right now I am cancelling my ESP mentioned above and getting it through flood ford with the maintainence plan because I like not having to worry about any of it for 5 years (how long i plan to keep the truck). Cancelling with the dealer i bought the expensive ESP from required me to send an odometer statement with proof and fill out some forms. They said ill get the refund by check in 4-6 weeks. I'd assume it would work the same way for you but im not sure. I would call flood ford and ask.

When I took delivery of my new 2019 Raptor I had shopped the Ford ESP plan for 84 months 100,000 miles and the best price I found online was $1,400. The finance guy started telling me that they had a special price for first responders and said he could let me have it for $2,000. I told him that I found it for $1,400. He looked it up and said they would match the $1,400 price.

The extended warranty purchased thru Flood Ford on my 2020 Raptor was easy. I showed the finance the price from Flood, and they could not match it. The maintenance protection is good to have because of rising prices (and you can specify full synthetic). Flood Ford's price on the maintenance protection is better than most all dealers. Get that thru them also. I was able to get the finance guy at my dealer to match this price. But Flood Ford's prices are hard to beat, and you can do it all on line.
