Hmm. Now you have me looking at the 1 up [emoji30]

Edit can you open the tailgate with the 1up installed? With the Thule I can drop the rack with two bikes installed and open the tail gate

It is possible to lower the 1up with bikes on it. But it is heavy and pain in the ass. Far easier to remove the closest bike and the tailgate will open all the way.

Single rack is 28lbs.

28 lb of rack plus two 30 lb bikes = 90 lbs of shit my back doesn't want to lift. Still easier to remove a single bike to access the tailgate. 1up system makes it super easy and fast to mount and unmount bikes.
Pull the lever and the rack tips. Probably less then 10-15lbs of effort. Your not lifting the whole rack back up. Your bike can act like a lever arm to minimize effort.
I have four blown discs at lower back and this thing is way easy on me.

I added fork mounts to the factory bed hooks so I can either flip up the cover or remove it and mount two bikes in the bed or I can carry them out back if needed depending on what’s going on. dda99f7fee8ed0aa557c3f2c2c671091.jpgf96b8ff0c88de171ab57894bea4004e0.jpg
