Some sort of touch sense would be nice. I use it on long Texas straight highways and I typically rest my 4 fingers from my left hand on the bottom 6 o'clock position and I still get the warning. If the weight is to prevent the chime no harm no foul imo. If it's to lay back and nod, yeah that's no bueno.

That would be nice.... Ford uses a torque sensor. It needs to see some steering wheel movement (torque) within 13 seconds or it gives you a warning.

13 sec is ridiculous. This thing gripes at me significantly more than any other vehicle I’ve driven.

People just use 10lb ankle weights from what i've read. I'm probably going to give it a try but even just keeping your hands on the steering wheel i felt like it took half of pressure on a 1500 mile recent trip to Utah and back to socal

It works. I bought a 5lbs ankle weight to test it and it works fine. Would not recommend doing it though. Just wanted to have fun with it. Used it for maybe 5 min to test and never did it again. Would be a terrible idea on the road.
