18-25 grand but you do realize that more than likely someone will have to finance that old of a vehicle which is not easy at times.

Still not understanding how any of that is relevant to your low production specialty vehicle resale argument.

You said 10-15K...which is it? Or are you just throwing out numbers hoping to not get called out?

All I think I was saying until you got defensive about losing so much in depreciaton since surely the Raptor could not depreciate that much. There is a reason beyond my control for why I got another truck so soon otherwise I would not have this Rqptor today.

I am happy though ,, so wasn't trying to troll ya'll...happy Raptoring

Except..they don't. Between Subaru's leaking head gaskets, cracked piston ringlands, cam seal and valve cover leaks, and spun rod bearings, they're a joke. Toyota can't even keep a chassis under their "trucks", which is why they lost a recent lawsuit to the tune of $3.4 Billion for rotted out frames. Honda is not even worth discussing, especially not their minivan based "ridgeline" or their made up "acura" brand.

I think you are confused. Nobody here is "losing so much" in depreciation. Raptors hold their value better than any other pickup truck on the market; I don't understand what you're referring to.

Easy to claim "you're not a troll", but look at the first sentence in your post. It just doesn't make sense.

Who said anything about German cars? I am talking all things from Japan. The EVOs, STIs, GTRs, and Type Rs all hold their value extremely well. Just this past year I saw an early Integra Type R go for 80+ thousand dollars. Granted you or me would not pay that for an old arse Acura but someone did and someone got paid off a car which was not that well sought after 20+ years ago.

How many Buick GNs, L88 C2 Vettes, Chevelle 492s, Broncos, Shelby Mustangs, Mopar muscle cars etc all have skyrocketed in value. All the domestic trucks hold their value well relative to many “standard” passenger vehicles/SUVs- hey some Japanese cars are great, but blowing Toyota makes me LOL! If Toyota was so great why - after like 25+ years worth of time to come up w/ something- did they wind up simply going to BMW & asking them to make a sports car for them? And then not offer it w/ a stick?

And Honda? The NSX is a great car, apparently very capable, too bad nobody seems to care. They discount the living crap outta those things, they’re known to produce shit trannies- like the 6 speed that started slipping @ 95k miles on my wife’s ‘15 MDX- we still got another 2019 version mainly because we got a killer deal @ time, better trade in, & well- they replaced the ****** Honda built 6 speed for a ZF 9 speed unit- problem solved.

Do you or have you owned anything other than a ford? Have multiple vehicles? I don't know what year your raptor is, what your plans for it are or how long you intened to keep it. You will more than likely not be able to sell it for what you paid for it and will probably lose money.

Oh and toyota does pretty well in a little thing called Nascar not to mention how many Supras they will sell due to zero percent offer on them. Toyota trucks are good and hold more of their value than normal f150s which they compete against. The TRD pro is a good truck.

what are you talking about bro no shit I wouldn’t be able to sell my now used 2018 Raptor w/ 24,500 miles & some scratches for the same price I paid for it, also- the sun is hot, Epstein didn’t kill himself, & this ain’t my first rodeo buying/selling vehicles.

I’ve owned plenty of vehicles have a few more than the Raptor currently & if you weren’t a brainless troll you’d already add up that I at least got the Raptor & wifes MDX which apparently you must love since it’s a “high value retaining Japanese automobile” (that happens to be built in Alabama)

That's an easy answer..yes. I've owned multiple GM, Chrysler/Jeep, and Ford vehicles. Not a single one has ever let me down. Still have my Jeep WK with 214k miles on it. Nor do I purchase vehicles solely based on resale value. My parents wasted a lot of money on Honda products, which they traded in for next to nothing because Honda cannot built a reliable automatic transmission. No sensible person purchases a vehicle with the intent to sell if for MSRP or make a profit. You don't seem like you have a good grasp on reality; your posts are to the point of being bizarre.

My Raptor is a 2019. I buy vehicles and keep them. Vehicles in general are not appreciating assets; you seem very confused.

What you mean is Toyota waved enough money under of NASCAR's execs noses to embed their brand logo into what is and has always been a traditionally American pastime. It's sickening. Selling overpriced, under performing garbage for years based on an outdated decades old reputation and the benefits of currency manipulation allowed that to happen. Where did this Supra argument come from? It's nothing more than a rebadged BMW. No Toyota "truck" comes close to matching the value or capability of a Raptor, especially not in residual value. The fact that you even think the **** pRo is a "good truck" only reinforces the fact that you're either trolling or don’t know much about vehicles.

now to the point. op, u r 1 lucky person with 80k miles and still running without problems, thats a keeper man. But read this forum, what if u buy a 2020 and have to take it in for phasers, and other 100+ things ... stranded in the middle on nowhere....

Considering the reliability reputation on raptors, it will be a mistake to upgrade. Unless there is a new generation altogether, even then, gift it to 1 of ur kids, maybe and buy a newer generation.

On another note, i have a feeling or sort of belief,... this might sound silly, but some might agree..., i think op most of your vehicles throughout ur life were fine, no major problems, occasional maintenance, like your raptor.... if your answer is yes, then i can bet your 2020 will be fine too:). or even if u buy a used one from a guy who had nothing but problems with his raptor, the moment u buy it, all problems will be gone.

Now some of u are saying, hey man... do u mean the problem is in us, doing something wrong.... not at all. its a fate thing. m 35 years old, started driving since 1995 when i was just 10 years old. by driving i mean within my property. and would drive on roads without permission. got busted by friends family and parents many times, then after turning 18 and getting my licence, i hve driven like more than a million miles till now. Not a single accident.

M i that careful? maybe now, but in my 20ss, man i was a rash driver. But there is no accident. Some impressive saves, but no accident. Even in a snow pileup of 40 cars, mine was fine. of course i moved it off the road but next guy did the same and the third hit his car.

Now we are 4 brothers, m the youngest, 2 are just like me, i mean, they never have any problems with there cars, 1 brother is like many on this forums, no matter what brand or car he buys, there is always an problem. Even now his air conditioning is not working after replacing it last year with a new one.

So its a fate thing. Thats the best explanation i can come up with. m sure op's other experiences were fine too in the past like his raptor and if he go for another 2020, he probably gonna be fine again with a problem free truck.

Here’s a post I did in December that shows factual information on depreciation values on like-equipped trucks. The Ford Raptor, in fact, has the lowest depreciation value.

And yes, I’m completely aware that all vehicles have suffered value changes due to the economic downturn due to COVID. But the key word here is ALL vehicles have suffered.

I went and did a little research to see just how much the Raptor is deprecating in comparison to Chevy, Ram and Toyota. As is suspected, the Raptor held its own - as usual.

Here’s what I did. I went and built a 2019 Chevy 1500, 2019 Ram Limited and 2020 Toyota Platinum with every possible option to match the Raptor. I pretty much had to add every possible option.

I then went to KBB.com and and checked “My Car Value” for a 2019 with 12,000 miles for each truck. As I did when I built the truck, I loaded up KBB with every option to match. I chose “Very Good Condition” for each search and took the highest range price value for all four trucks.

One can argue that I didn’t chose this option and KBB isn’t the best source, etc, etc, etc. But in the end, this is a fair apples to apple MSRP comparison for each vehicle relative to depreciation.

Here’s what I found: (in order of greatest depreciation)

Dodge Ram Limited
MSRP: $62,475
KBB: $43,802
Diff: $18,673
Depreciation: 30%

Toyota Tundra Platinum
MSRP: $54,465
KBB: $40,656
Diff: $13,809
Depreciation: 25%

Chevy 1500 High Country
MSRP: $56,690
KBB: $45,964
Diff: $10,726
Depreciation: 19%

Ford Raptor
MSPR: $72,520
KBB: $62,343
Diff: $10,177
Depreciation: 14%

The problem with your little experiment is no dealetship is going to give you very good for your trade. You should have used the good values.
