I was in an accident with one of ADDs first bumpers and it demolished the uninsured drivers car but only left some cosmetic damage on the bumper. Their car was totaled and my insurance was going to cover the repair of my bumper but it was only a few bucks more than my deductible so I decided to avoid putting a claim through.
In regards to trade in with cutting the frame I was told it was a no go simply because the local Ford dealer wants to get the vehicles certified when they bring them in. I'm sure a place like Carmax or some other type of dealer wouldn't know any better.
Id like to hear more opinions on the dealership thing. Maybe if someone could bring this to the ford technicians attention, i dont know their screen names.
Would it also bea no go if they were welded back on. My common sense tells me it woulld be the same as no horns at all.
my other question for collision damage is- by taking the horns off so many inches, is that leaving my engine bay and front only protected by the strength of the bolt? Does it move the point of true impact/not the bumper back to where it could cause more damage? If that makes sense.
and wreckless, the bumper i was going with is yours. I want the angle but i want it flush. I dont have many options if i keep it flush.
