Deaver is now making custom +6 HD rides is 100x better over the +4HD was shocked how big of a diff it was mine is 45 inches now ground to bottom of flare with about 500lbs of weight on bed see my post

This is exactly what I would expect on an HD. One inch of compression under a 500lb load. @RaptorVette is seeing two inches of compression under a 100lb load. Something seems off. I wonder if it would be worth a call to Deaver? He might have gotten a mismarked set of springs.

Gordojay, I added a link to an old post right after I had the springs installed. I gained 2 inches of height over stock with the same weight in the bed. (Around 300lbs)

Went from 40 inches to 42 inches.

I remember that, but 40 inches is way lower than stock. Like more than two inches. IIRC, you were less than 25.5 inches from center of wheel to fender, too. Did you bend your frame?

But that 40 inches is with 300lbs of added weight. I never measured from the center of the wheel before install.

I put a thousand pounds in my stock 2020 and measured 40 inches in the back. I'd be surprised if 300 out on the hitch would drop it that much

Some have stated that installing 1" or 2" drop shackles in place of the OEM helps to regain some of the articulation that is lost due to the added height.

I'm assuming that it's the downward articulation that's affected when installing aftermarket leave springs but not really sure.

I am 150% aware of what drop shackles are supposed to do.

In practice, all they really do is allow the axle to rotate farther forward for more droop. You'll see a WAY better result if you skip the drop shackles and just tune the suspension.

For most, the rear shocks arent even long enough to take advantage of the additional droop. so, In practice, the rear shocks ( unless you've already done a bedrack with longer shocks) end up functioning as a limit strap, which is no bueno.

Furthermore, if you have any intention of using traction bars that actually prevent spring wrap, you'll end up with a bind in the downtravel as the axle wants to rotate forward and the traction bars are designed to prevent that more extreme forward rotation.
