It's a beautiful place. And the Europeans especially the Germans know about it because there are MANY there enjoying it. The couple in the campsite next to ours one night was from Denmark and the next night a couple from Switzerland was there.

We go to DV at least twice a year and we typically camp along the route which adds to the adventure but means primitive camping with no restrooms, showers or beer cooler.

Yeah that was me....I was on my way to Mt. Whitney. I would have liked to stop, but the necessity to "beat the rush" and get a campsite at the portal prevented that......I do enjoy gettin sauced up in panamint valley though...that bar is cool.....looks like it was a great trip.
