Glad your dealer took care of you. I could not get my dealer to put forth the effort to replicate your exact issue on the 2018 I had before my Gen3.
Yeah thats what I read on multiple post here About dealer not being able to replicate. So I decided that I was gonna video every single time the smoke and rattle happened. They tried to pull dat same shit on me about not being able to replicate so I told them to hang on and I drove my ass down there and played all video footage. I learned from other people on this forum about the famous " I can't replicate it " line. LoL

Glad you got it squared away.
Bro the truck literally hauls ass now. Like no joke im so stoked. It is on point. Smiled the whole way home. Woke up this morning and been smiling since. I didn't think there was gonna be a huge difference in power but damn I was wrong. Right now I'm just driving to drive. Unreal super stoked. Can't wait to take this baby to the dunes.

My truck just did this same thing yesterday and it wasn’t the first time. Maybe 3-4 times this has happened. All after a prolonged idle. 2018 with 110k miles. Definitely gonna video the next time as I only have warranty to 125k.

Hahaha I better get this post out. Im being roasted. Ok so I posted a thread about 3 weeks ago about white smoke from my exhaust after 20+ min of idling. It started small then over 6 months my truck developed into a fricken rocket. Anyway I did all the research I could and with all the help of the lovely gentlemen in this forum I was able to narrow it down that it could be anything. lol. So I did have trouble getting my truck in to dealership. But thats an other story. But to sum it up if your truck is smoking, idling rough, rattling/clanking at start up take it in Asap. ***** not normal. What I did do to get it in quick is I called and went straight to corporate the rest is pretty much history. Do that and complain like school girl on a monday morning. Your welcome! so I just wanted to post the paper work from the dealership of the work that was done and to help anyone who is in the same situation. From what i learned the most common causes oil pooling in the turbos and the cam phasers. I hope this helps to shed some light on the smoking issue. By the way you if you are questioning white smoke from your truck then its not steam. LoL just saying. Also very important take video of everything thats happening with the truck they tried the whole I can't replicate shit with me and I played all videos as I had as proof. This pretty much put aren't in there plans. I also have pics of how they put my air intake back together ill put pics of that in a little. With the way they did that I hope my engine holds together. LoL. The smoke pics was taken before the fix. As of now i see no more smoke.. Aloha! View attachment 379385View attachment 379386
I’m glad you got it resolved, thanks for the info

My 18' had the smoke also after long idles. After it would sit off a little while and after I started it back up it was like I went thru fog it got so bad. and of course got the same "we couldn't replicate". My ass. they just wouldn't do what I told them. let it idle for an hour or more I don't care and then let it sit for a few hours then inspect. even after I took the videos and they saw it. they said moisture. my ass. they fixed every other item. that was the only thing left for them to do when I ended up upgrading to a 21'. unfortunately now its someone else's problem.
