Then you take it to the desert and coat it with pinstripes and all that fuss about the paint being perfect goes out the window!

No desert anywhere close to me but I do have lots of woods and will be driving deep in the trees to get to the good fishing and hunting spots.
Hope a good slippery layer of wax will help prevent some of the scratches.

Unfortunately I was not aware of when my Shelby arrived for prep and PDI as I first found it on the lot a few days later. When the deal was done they not only had the car washed but they had a local company come in and completely detail it including clay bar/decontamination and the whole nine yards. Hell they even put a full tank of 93 in her.
The only thing I missed out on regrettably was all of the original paper work for the car.

To ensure I have all the paper work this go around, they are not going to touch the truck once it comes in. Once I get there and see the truck and hopefully get all my documentation and build sheet I'll let them prep it while I finish the paper work. I have no worries regarding this process because their execution on the Previous purchase was absolutely flawless.

I have been assured that as soon as my Raptor comes off the transport it will parked and the key's locked in the office until I get there to pick it up, no joy rides for anyone.

Sounds like a plan. It's hard not to have visions of swirl marks in my freshly minted black paint though lol.

Me neither. I drove for over 10 hours to do that. :)

I'm 14 miles away from my dealer. The last truck I ordered I was called to watch it roll off the transport truck then got to drive it myself to the back lot. Great dealer.

I forget what my 2012 prep was like, however my new 2014 was pathetic and they charged me several hundred dollars!

They scratched the plastic door panels, dripped some kind of cleaner on the steering wheel plastic and faded the color, left the plastic wrap on the shocks and center caps, and several other BS things.........! What a waste of money in my opinion!
