Just ran out and checked mine...same same. I wonder why they take out some bolts when they spray but leave others.

I asked my installer to take those bolts that are reusable (tailgate, hooks, etc..) but not those 6 that hold the bed. Ford specifically states not to reuse bed bolts once they're removed.

Mine was supposed to come with dealer installed spray in liner but hadn’t been done yet. Had em hold on doing it, I got them to refund the money and had it done by a shop I could deal directly with. Shop had 3 levels of spray-in liners, the lowest level was done for the dealers and the mark-up by the dealers was about $200. Had the high level non-skid surface done and cost about the same as what the dealer option was. Don’t know if this is the common practice by the dealerships but certainly was enlightening.

Thanks for your post. Will check locally here with my Line-X dealer to see if the same. $$ saved is $$ saved!

From what I understand all factory spray in bed liners use an adhesion promoter, not scuffing of the paint, to make the product stick to the bed. I like the tried and true scuff method much better.

My dealer uses Line-x for around $400. They do Great work and remove bed bolts, anchors etc. They have done several of my trucks and never had an issue.

I like the dealer installed better, even though mine was factory installed

I had my dealer install the Linex spray in. Apparently the Linex spray In covers a bit more and the spray in meets at certain points. Meaning no chance of having exposed paint to get scratched. Beautiful job they did actually. It’s also pretty thick.

Looks like the factory or actual dealer sprayed in is done differently.

Do you have pictures of the area between the bed and tail gate? I would love to see how better covered your tailgate is.
