I've got a local guy that gets the bars very cheap, like $200 for a 40. Yeah they may not be the same quality as the $1200 ones, but I could buy 4 for that price. And inside the grille, it should be fairly well housed. Thanks for the info. I may get a 30 & 40 for in my grille soon too.

I dont' know who told you about windshield mount and wind noise above 60mph. I've had my SR50 installed for 2 years and never once thought to myself "that wind noise is killing me, I need to put it behind the grill". Usually people go behind the grill for fear of it being stolen, which is also silly in my mind because rigid makes a locking nut that requires a key to remove.

The early E Series were known for wind noise, but they have since re-engineered the case making it more aero friendly. Esp the SR series.

I dont mean to insult/question your judgement, so don't take any of this the wrong way. Trying to help make the right decision for you.

I appreciate the advice and in no way did i take it the wrong way. It may have been that they had the "cheaper" version light bar that are like the $200 ones which might have more wind noise than Rigid series bc of the quality and not really caring about the wind noise. I do appreciate all the advice from everyone.

People put the 40" behind the grill because it is stealthy and protected, sure you're going to lose some light but these Rigid 40 inchers are so damn bright you wouldn't know it, besides if you're Raptor is stock its the only place you can easily mount the 40.

I think that is the route im going first. I have halo headlights and i think this 40 inch will go well with it for the use im going to be going with it. I know rigid sells the brackets and wiring harness for this for like 34.99, is that all i would need? Thanks for everyone's help

You can never have enough lights.

Thats what i am thinking. 40 inch behind the grille, then later a 20 inch amber light in lower grille, 4 dually fog lights then 50 inch above windshield

I think you can get the bracket and Raptor harness together for $15 or $20. and that is all you will need for the instal, (plus wire butt connectors and shrink tube.)
The curved 40 behind the grill would be cool but you would hardly be able to tell that it was curved with the hood closed. A curved 20 in the lower grill would look killer though.
40 behind the grill is one of the easiest modes you can do, bolts right up using existing holes and screws.

After doing some more research/pecking I learned you can insert 1/4" irrigation tubing between the fins if the wind resonance bugs you.

I'd skip the behind the grill option, esp if you have a 50 above the Windshield. Overkill is possible, but if money is no object - then who cares!

I'd be interested in talking to your light guy. Can I get some contact info?
