Its dry rotting, nothing you can do about it. Get rid of them as soon as you can, not really safe anymore. These are original KOs, they were notorious for that. The rubber texture, outside elements can contribute to this, you also drive like a grandma, just kidding... KO2s is night and day different. Like others said contact BFG and see if they can offer any $$$ help.
So I went to Costco and Discount tire and both techs said the cracking was only cosmetic. They tested all four tires and concluded the structure of the tire was fine. As a result, no money towards a new set of tires! BFG told me on the phone that the cracking might only be cosmetic. In order to get a prorated value for my tires a tire shop would have to sign off on it.
