I plastidipped my ICON's for just that reason. My fox shocks were corroded nearly as bad as Mac's. I called ICON and they suggested frequent wd40 sprays, but it doesn't help any better. I don't know how Hockster did it unless not spending the full winter in Michigan.

Ya only about 5k miles of MI winter rest in VA winter but, they use as much salt and they pre treat the roads so much here. I use WD40 and spray the crap out of em all the time. I buy it in the gallon container and have a bottle with me all teh time.

I'm a week away from pulling the trigger on the RPG tuned 3.0 shocks, but am hesitant after reading this thread. As an avid snowboarder, I would hate to put a set of 3.0 on my truck and haven them corrode like some of yours.

Are you afraid to garf your snowboard?

I see people driving on the beach i winch a bit. the sand has a high concentrate of evaporated salt. The lifeguard trucks are eaten away by salt. It does look fun but to costly for me..

I think that my shocks look even worse than yours Mac thanks to the salt/brine spray used in the Winter here. I'd be very interested to hear what your dealer says as mine told me that "...the shock body finish is not a warranted part and as such is considered normal wear & tear."

Please keep us posted.
