Well, they are building it now. I also sent them a set of hubs. This should be interesting to see what they come up with. They didn't seem to have any issue with the idea of making them much stronger.

As I've mentioned before. I'm really looking forward to this upgrade. The heavy rain and mud here in the PNW can really take it's toll on 4WD IFS axles/components and the Raptor is no exception.

One thing I would like to hear about is the pinion and bearing differences between '12 and other years. I will have to look for the previous thread that mentioned it...

Found it!

Axle spline counts and differentials housing were the same between 2010 and 2011 so the gears will all transfer; however, the pinion bearing is what is different between the two. We are also waiting for them to upgrade the install kits.

I went back to verify that my previous post was correct about the bearing being different. They said it was but so was the rest of the pinion assembly. We looked at just swapping it out with a 2010 pinion set-up and it was more trouble than it was worth. IMO, you would be better off swapping out the whole differential with a guy with 2010 raptor that has no intention of re-gearing.

Jason, any chance of a side-by-side comparison picture showing the difference in the parts?

If I can track down the two different pinion assemblies I will put some pictures in here.

I asked specifically about this to Michael Holzinger (SVT Axle Engineer). The rear is definitely different and SVT is looking into Making a kit to change the rear to other gear configurations.

The front however is standard 8.8.

I spoke to RCV this morning, and they have everything laid out and engineered. I am told we are about 2 weeks out from having a completed set of axles and hubs.

WooHoo :peace:

BTW Guys, I have confirmed with RCV that with enough interest the price can indeed come way down.

These will be bullet proof....

Well throw my name in the 'interested' hat Chris. I need to do something soon, and price (unfortunately) really needs to dictate what that 'something' is.

Even though I do not need them, "yet".. I know I will, I rather replace the stock axles now, and have piece of mind. Add me to that list..

Keep the questions coming guys. I'm hearing thru the grapevine this has caught some good attention both on and off these forums. This should prove really interesting.

Cool deal! Case strength would be my only concern that comes to mind at the moment.
