According to the manual it uses both the radar and the camera.

Per the owners manual it is a 3 step system that escalates based on the situation.

Step 1 - driver alert alarm

Step 2 - primes the brake system

Step 3 - collision imminent, brakes apply themselves

If you are getting this information from the standard F-150 manual, it applies to all 2018 F-150s with the new tech package, except the Raptor. The 2018 Raptor still uses the old tech package because it didn't receive the frontend refresh.

You mean I just paid $1950 for an old technology package on my 2018?

I got it from the owners manual in my 2018 Raptor.

I just looked up the technology package on th 18' F150 and the 18' Raptor and I'm not seeing any differences?

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, I dunno.

So, I think I’ve found a way to trip the collision warning. Accelerate toward a slowing vehicle that’s only a few lengths ahead. I’ve been able to do it twice.

Normally it’s a turning vehicle I’m barely slowing for and getting a little close too. Today, some nitwit in a Murano jumped out in front of my rapidly accelerating truck, so they could drop anchor to make a u turn. Another impolite DC plated driver.

anyway, each of the times I’ve done this I’ve been on the gas, not coasting, and the collision alert sounds while closing on the vehicle in front.

My raptor is currently at the dealership getting this issue looked at (been in for 8 days already). The lights and alarm go off randomly when I'm headed down a straight road as if i'm about to collide with something.

They called me last friday and said the sensor that sits behind the bumper might be faulty so they're going to swap it out with a new one. Will keep you updated if this fixes the issue..
