Once you run the truck in Raptor Runs it will never be the same.

Old thread but just trying to get a consensus.

I was looking to do the same intake as you with the lid and a tune. I think i have read 10 threads that all have mixed messages.

For off roading, does the AFE downgrade the drive-ability when tuned? Or is stock air box with tune and drop in filter the best option for off road use.

I think I read the Raptor Expedition gang use stock air box?

Need to make the intake Q&A a sticky so we can have all the data in one areas as well as feedback vs 10 threads that have this topic dating back to 2010. Just 2 cent idea.

I hated the way my afe drove without a tune, with a tune it was nice drivability wise. I ended up ditching the afe in favor of an airaid drop in and couldn't be any happier. Didn't seem to lose any power and I don't have the noise from the afe that I wasn't a fan of.

I'm have various emotions about my AFE Stage 2 intake. At first I was okay, later I became dissatisfied but now I'm happy with it. Not sure if I'm experiencing Stockholm syndrome or not to justify the purchase. If you do go with a CAI, make sure you get a tune to go with it.

My AFE just broke while off roading this past weekend. None too happy since it is just a year old.

Ditto. AFE on stock tune was a step backward. AFE on 5 star was so-so. AFE on SVC tune is perfect. They flow benched it with the tune so the resonance is all worked out and you get great throttle response. Oh, and add the lid. Too loud w/o it.
