COBB tuning Raptor tune

Does the tune remove the speed limiter as well, If not is something they can program in so we can get that removed!

Cobb has stated that the speed limiter is at 200...which is essentially removed as this truck won’t ever get there

Where did you read that most Whipple buyers are disappointed? The Whipple kit has been nothing but amazing for me

I don’t know about the non Cobb intake as I purchased the Stage 1+ kit and didn’t already have a CAI. As for the Turbosmart VTA BOV, I already had one installed at the time of my Cobb purchase. I inquired about it prior to buying and one of Cobb’s tech support guys stated that they had not tested with an aftermarket BOV and there was a possibility of it throwing a code. Said that I may need to go back to factory setup if there were issues. So far I’ve loaded the 93 octane tune and have done some around town driving with only a couple heavy presses on the skinny pedal and have had no codes/lights pop and haven’t felt anything troubling as far as the performance/driveability. Only thing I’ve noticed is how much nicer the truck is to drive. I know that the tune doesn’t have any TCM recal in it but I swear it shifts differently (doesn’t up shift as much or as hard and is just all around smoother). The throttle assist feature is also such an improvement.

Thanks you for the response. Have been looking into both Cobb tune or getting a pedal commander. I like that there is so much more that I can do with the COBB AP.

Intake doesn't matter, stage1 tune can be run on any intake including stock. If you get a dtc for the bov shoot me a message and I'll send you a map for it no charge

About Whipple: Agree. And it seems that the Cobb vs Whipple Is pretty similar in terms of HP / torque gains.
For both folks need to remember that there are many states that doesn’t have 93oct available.

I like that Cobb makes it easier in case you want to go back to stock (stock file included vs having to request it.) Although I never had the need to do so.

Whipple on the other hand DOES include a trans tune. That made a big improvement in shift points.

In my non expert opinion (Whipple owner) and what I read, both are good and seem to agree on what a safe tune for the Raptor looks like.

Yep both companies are great. I’ve had my Whipple kit on my truck now for a year and a half so there’s really no need for me to switch to COBB, but I’m excited for all the guys here that are getting their kits from them cause they look like they offer some great products. And about the 93 octane can you get 93 without ethanol? I can get 93, even 94 here in Canada but I refuse to run it due to the ethanol. So I just stick to Shell 91 V Power since it’s unleaded

I’m curious as to why you avoid fuel with ethanol content with your Raptor? I too am in Canada but here on the east coast we only have 91....I had a modded R35 GT-R for 6 1/2 years and I was told by my tuner to actually find and use 91 octane with the most ethanol content possible as it prevents detonation further. Basically it was a better choice for my tuned turbo vehicle so I can only assume it would be the same for the Raptor...
