Cobb is starting their raptor tune. I know nothing about them but hear they are top tier. What do they and their access port do that others don’t ?

They are hugely respected in the world of Subarus... that's all I know about them.

I had a Cobb Accessport/Tune for my Porsche Macan. It worked flawlessly. I will definitely buy one when they have a AZ one (our gas sucks here). My son had one for his Subaru WRX as well and it was flawless too.

You can go to the cobbtuning.com web site and look around. It has much good info about their products and tuning software. The AP will have MUCH more capability than anything I've seen yet for the Raptor Ecoboost. I've used Cobb Tuning products and software since they expanded past the Subaru into Ford, Mazda, and other platforms in 2007. They are a true professional outfit with very reliable tuning. They don't advertise as the highest power off-the-shelf tunes, but they will be great, reliable power. If you want to squeeze it for the big (with more risk involved) numbers, you will need to visit a Certified Cobb Pro-Tuner for a dyno session. The Cobb software will let you go from mild to wild with just a few tweaks. Their list of approved tuners are on their web site, so check it out.

The capabilities that Cobb will provide will be an awesome addition to this platform, but unfortunately is still a ways out.

I find Cobb's software flashes to run rather rich...to say the least not a fan.

Boosted engines require richer mixtures than NA for sure. You can tune NA engines into the low to mid 13s at WOT for best power just before exploding, but a turbo engine requires around mid to low 11s when turning up the boost, so a bit rich is where you need to be. Do you have data logs to show "rather rich"?

ugh...no data logs but I can show you many soot covered rear valances that are cobb tuned . Like I said I'm just not a fan.

There's a bunch of misinformation here.

First Cobb TUNES as in MADE BY COBB are conservative.

Second that has nothing to do with cobbs software capability. Those of us who know a little about building turbo vehicles are excited about cobbs software coming to the ecoboost not their tunes. We want the accesport and software since the Ngauge is a hilarious piece of junk and HPT doesn't have full ecu access.

Turbo cars can run as rich as 12:1. Also most subaru engines have the MAF pre turbo. Meaning when changing to an external BOV it vents metered air and becomes rich. Nothing the tune can do to change that. You have to correct that mechanically. And that's what causes soot on subaru bumpers.

We run Cobb and ecutek(also coming to ecoboost) on all our 1000+hp builds unless it requires motec.
