To Cobb downpipe or to not? Is it worth the $1350 price tag??

thinking this myself........ but leaning towards to NO, since nobody is bragging on how great it is LOL. You read about people installing it, but then nothing after. I'm contemplating intercooler also. I'd get the silver intercooler since I like the aggressive appearance and the "move bitch i've got a raptor with an intercooler" look. But is $1300 really worth that appearance? Not too worried about heat soak because I never make back to back WOT runs with my truck anyways.

That's what I'm thinking about the downpipes but I will be going with the intercooler. Good point on the silver intercooler looking more aggressive I was about ready to order the black. Dang another decision, I guess if I don't like it I can always get it painted afterwards.

I think you have to ask yourself what your end goal is. If you're looking for significant power gains with just an intake, FMIC and tune, then pass on the DP and use your money somewhere else. If you want increased exhaust sound, and the ability to squeeze every little HP out with a protune, then it may be worth it to you.

I would definitely recommend the FMIC. It is right behind the grill and with shutters removed, silver will definitely be noticeable. Personally I went with black because I like the stealth look and don't have any silver anywhere else on my truck but I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Firmly agree with you on both of these posts.

As far as intercooler finishing, silver looks sporty, black looks stealthy.

For anyone interested, as of right now, we've got very limited availability of silver and limited availability on black intercoolers. Downpipes are currently backordered. As always, we keep the AP3 and CAIs in stock.

Has anyone installed the intercooler themselves. I haven't found a shop that would do it. Im going to try a diesel shop, I think they will do it, but thought hell maybe I should just try it. Got mine Stage 1 installed yesterday. Basically it feels like a put my OEM 35's back on. The 37's made truck feel sluggish, but there is a big weight difference between oem. (10lbs each) plus size. Really hoping for a tire correction update from COBB at some point for speedo and trans shifts..

Couple people have installed themselves. A member even made a quick YouTube cliffs note version of the install. If you’re handy, then I say do it yourself. Just set aside a full day for the install. Or 2 days if you like to take frequent breaks

Yes, I installed the Intercooler myself. It’s not too difficult really. There’s just a lot of steps. I took my time and it took me about 5 hours. If you don’t want to do it yourself, try taking it to a performance shop. I’m curious what other people paid to get it installed.
