I agree, goosetuned doesn't like the "Auto Octane " feature in a tune. Not sure I fully understand that since it is used by the OEM.

His tune like most tunes raise boost among changing other parameters.

ORA's tune doesn't raise boost as their tuner claimed raising boost increases heat which is something he didn't want to do and I believe their tune has more to do with adjusting the timing among changing other parameters.

It makes it a tough decision.

See above in regards to "Auto Octane" :)

I do raise boost to 18-20psi. I also adjust timing, fueling, etc... It's not as simple as just raising boost. You will also get a completely custom tune from me made and adjusted specifically for YOUR truck, fuel, and environment.

I’d be curious to know if you ran the stage 2 with and without the tcm to know your impression.

Yep I had stage 2 93 on for a few months before the TCM tune was released. It is much smoother with the TCM. It still takes some getting used too because it’s so smooth you are up to speed before you think you will be. I am running the OEM + mostly in normal drive mode but if I want more kick in the shifting switch to sport. I have not loaded or tried the sport TMC tune as of yet.

Hopefully no one flames me for another Cobb posting.

I'm just not happy with Cobbs tunes. I'm currently running the stage 2 as I put a IC on about 2 months ago. The software and hardware are top notch however the tune feels fat at times. Sometimes the truck pulls good but most of the time if I get on it at highway speeds it feels like I'm pulling a trailer (I'm not). I've started monitoring the gauges more looking for anything that might indicate timing being pulled (which is what it feels like) however no misfires and no knock. From what I've read the TCM upgrade is good but it's an additional $400.
So now I'm sitting thinking do I spend $400 for the TCM and a addtional $200+ for a custom tune (looking at Goosetune). Goosetune has tune and TCM tune for $550 but I would also have to purchase the TCM which is $400 for an all in total of $950. I've read a lot of reviews about the new ORA550 which runs about $800. The thing I really like about that is the Auto Octane.

The question is for the guys that have experience with Cobb has anyone else experienced the heavy/fat feeling with the Cobb tune? Did the TCM and/or custom tune make a night and day difference?

Any one have experience with both Cobb and ORA? Is the Auto Octane as good as it sounds? I saw one guy on here switched and really likes it.
I'm running the same tune 93 octane stage 2... my raptor is sick fast, I don't know what your problem is. When I jump on it's pulls hard no turbo lag and plasters you back into the seat.Cobb

@Malamuteman I'd like for you to send me logs of your truck. Please reach out to me via PM. Also what fuel you are running, fueling station you are purchasing your fuel from, modifications, year truck, and a more detailed description of what you are feeling.
It's a 2019 SCREW. I run 93 all the time. I don't have one gas station that I go to all the time. I do stick with the main brands and newer stations. It mainly feels sluggish stepping on the gas at highway speeds. So say 50-55mph rolling. As it gets higher in the RPM it does feel like the power curve does ramp up. It could be that the transmission is not kicking to the right gear.

2.) If I purchased a 93 octane tune from you, went 4 wheeling in another state the didn't have 93 octane my choices would be to A.) Remove the tune or B.) Purchase another tune like maybe 91. Correct?

Although it might be smarter to purchase an alternative 87 octane that way one could run a 87 octane tune on 91 octane.

Yes I do.

Believe it or not even 28psi at 3000rpm does not overspin the turbos. Peak shaft speed happens at HIGH RPM not low RPM. If you plot shaft speed of a turbo the curve will look similar to plotting Maf g/s on the same run. This is where data comes in to play.

You can simply run a 91oct Off the shelf map that COBB provides, or even run their 87oct map, both of which are free when you purchase a COBB Accessport. :) No need to purchase another map.

This also takes 1-2 minutes.

If you are not happy with Cobb switch to the hp tuners mpvi2 and a custom tune from me. $699 for the device and the tune that includes transmission tuning.

I am using the Cobb Accessport with their OTS tune, (impressed with the Accessport but not impressed with the OTS tune), I then installed Goosetuned Custom Stage 1 tune with the Cobb TCM and I couldn't be happier. The thing pulls and runs like a beast, all on crappie California 91 octane fuel. Transmission shifts are smooth as butter, does not miss a gear up or down. Cant imagine what the Goosetuned Custom Stage 2 tune with a Intercooler will be like.
I don't think it can get much worse for me having to run 91oct, and for some odd reason I cant get 91oct, I'll just switch back to factory settings all at the push of a button. Sometimes you have to spend a little money to have fun. I think it was money well spent.
