So many possibilities for clunk noises with sway bar attachments. Link wear is a top contender, as are joint slip at the bar-to-link attachment and also rubber movement (itch) at the bushing ID. There is more engineering into it than you might think. Replacing links can address 2 of the 3 primary noise sources, namely link wear and link attachment slippage. Many OEMs use powder coat at the stab bar link attachment with thicknesses that vary wildly. I highly recommend checking joint torque after done usage and re-torque as necessary. I developed a special 2-pc nut specifically for stab bar link attachments, featuring an embedment washer with raised ribs taper than the max expected coating thickness. They worked well to kill slippage issues. Ramco (supplier) would be happy to sell you some of these specialized nuts. GM uses them by the millions.
