Just about to hit 100k on the clock. 2017 with everything minus sun roof.

I have not had 1 single issue. Only oil changes. Its never been in for some mechanical or electrical problem since i've owned it. (bought with 30k on the odo)

I tow 24' enclosed with 4k lb car(have air bags) .... go to silver lake sand dunes, do some mild off roading... and tons of freeway driving.

I have the bumper to bumper 100k mile warranty thats about to expire.
There is a 2 sec rattle on cold starts. Doesnt matter if its 80 or 2 degrees outside. (im in Michigan)

I havent answered any phone calls with numbers i dont recognize.. so i probably missed the extended warranty opportunities.

You guys have any advise on warranties after 100k miles?

The truck does have a 2 sec cold start rattle. Been like that for at least a year. Hasnt gotten worse... doesnt rattle if the truck is somewhat warm. Never bothered me until i read all the cam phaser stuff here. lol.
Would you suggest i open that can of worms while it still has the warranty.. or just let it live.
Transmission sometimes jumps a bit when shifting from park to drive... its super intermittent. Never really bothered me.

I love love love this truck. I had the Gen 1 for 120k miles as well... and this Gen 2 has been amazing.

Awesome! Great report. We only always hear about the bad stuff cuz I guess human nature to complain about the bad and overlook the good. I agree, love my truck. I go in next week to diag the cam phaser rattle. If they don’t “hear” it I’ll keep driving!

I told them I had a noise in the front and that I wanted them to go over the whole truck front to back like it was a pre purchase inspection and they found everything wrong. The service manager was awesome to deal with and was like “if you don’t mind not having your truck for a little while we want to make sure your a happy customer and take care of everything at once.”

I’m working in Salina Ks and the dealer is Long McArthur Ford.

Awesome, well I know the service manager at my local dealership and might do the same. Before I bought the truck I had a pre-purchase inspection done but it was at another dealership in the town that I bought the truck from.

Since I have the 100K PremiumCare warranty, I think I will take the same approach and use the same line you did. Thanks for tip!

Trust me, they will claim they don't hear it. I have a video of mine starting up after sitting for a week in the garage while I was out of town. Started it up but decided to video it as well, definitely a rattle noise but I haven't even approached them about it at this time but will next time I go in!

I had them keep it over night so it would cold soak. That way they could hear it first hand and they went from there with it.

I am also at 77K on my 2018 with the 100K mile warranty, I am looking to upgrade to 120K like you or even more, maybe 150K. I just had 3 small leaks fixed, the drivers side seat heaters and now I have also noticed a small rattle that lasts about 2 seconds at start up. How did you go about them replacing everything on the truck? I may have them do the same while diagnosing the phasers.
