Getting my windows tinted this week. I think I will put the clear bra on as well. They have 12" or 18" options...I told them 12" but im not too familiar with the application and if it was needed? Or if Clear Bra is a rip off altogether?

I swear by clear bra. I’ve never has it on a car longer than 5 years, but the idea is to avoid small chips and such. At some point it really should be replaced because it can get beat up or the sun can start to discolor it. It won’t stop rock dents from happening, but on a composite hood and fenders I think it’ll be pretty effective. If there is an 18” option for the hood rather than 12” it will cover farther up and would be my preference.

If you have the hood decals, you would only be able to do a partial hood, since the decals create a gap/air bubbles around the edges of the decal and the clear bra. Just dropped mine off today for Clear Bra and they let me know I could get a partial with the decals or go full hood and they can remove the decals.

Its a catch 22. They do what they're intended too...but if you plan to keep the truck for a long time, be prepared for a mess. I'm peeling a clear bra off my 2005 GTO...granted its been on there since I bought it, but it did its job.

Let a detailer do it. No mess.

Usually after 10 years in the AZ sun the clear bras are discolored and cracking. I've never tried to get one off but it doesn't look fun, like watching the used car guys trying to remove a 6 year old wrap from a commercial vehicle.

Ha, I technically already paid for the hood decals (I didn't want them but it was the only truck on the lot with all the options). Technically the majority of the damage is going to hit the front portion of your truck, the entire truck gets coated with a ceramic coating (5 layers) so that should help it some.

I had Clear Bra on my 2010 Camaro SS and then my 2016 Challenger Hellcat, and I swear never again. Bugs and dirt just stick to that shit and it’s a PIA to get clean. For now I’m hoping the Ford Bug Guard and Husky Mud Flaps will save some paint. I can only imagine mud and Clear Bra being a huge pain!

I have paint protection on my white 2009 car. I don’t remember the brand. It’s been through winter salt/brine and hot summers/bug shrapnel.

The front end still looks great. Of course there’s some marks in the film and one stone got through on the hem of the hood. Touched up no problem.

I clay and wax it like the paint. I’ve even spritzed it with Iron-X. I recommend clear paint protection on a vehicle if you’re gonna keep it since I’ve had great experience with it.

Wife’s car doesn’t have it and it’s got some stone chips. I did my Raptor front end/headlights.
