Just was looking for some great info and check in with forum. I have had multiple problems with my 2011 raptor bought in NW Arkansas in Bentonville, AR. I have had my raptor since Late January 2011 and before I hit 1.000 miles I had an engine oil leak. Brought it in to dealer for repair which appeared to be done; several hundred miles later check engine light came on after a fuel fill up. Took it back in for check up and codes were reset and no additional codes or engine light. Just made first Highway trip of 600 miles or so and truck made it back to home with a knocking sound from engine. I took it to dealer and it has been there for the past couple of weeks for a total engine replacement. I'm guessing a "thrown rod" or some other catastrophic engine failure. Don't know what went wrong, truck has not been pushed at all thus far, just 10 min commute back and forth to work and a few gravel roads here in NW Arkansas; absolutely no hardcore offroading at all. Would love to hear some discussion on this. Thanks, Matt.

Hey Matt.

Sorry to hear about your issues..... You're the first I've heard of with a warrantied total engine replacement, sounds like something was really wrong with yours. Look for the guys with blue usernames around here, they are Ford Techs, Ford Senior Master Techs, and Ford Professionals.... They might need some more symptom description from you, but of everyone here, they are the best equipped to help diagnose your problems from afar.

Truck is back in my possesion as of this past weekend with no further issues thus far. They did not repair with a short block swap as I feared they would do for a broken rod. Instead, They replaced the whole engine assembly, complete with heads. I am hoping to not have any further problems relating to the engine. It sounds as though the initial oil leak before 800 miles and then subsequent misfire codes lead to the rod failure. Also, they have a replacement driveshaft that they will be installing to fix the "clunk" noise that people have been talking about the slip yoke. Will keep you updated.
