Chains on front tires

What do you mean no help? If you can't put chains on the front tires, you CANNOT put chains on the front tires. Are you dense or ignorant? Not sure which is worse in this case.

Wow, tough crowd. I carry a set of truck claws. They’re super helpful if you get stuck but can’t really drive with them. You could leave the chains on the rear and use truck claws as needed if you get stuck.

I put chains on my mail truck a few times during the winter since 90% of our postal vehicles are 2wd. I would highly advise to NOT use chains. Unless you live in Alaska or the north pole, once those chains snap itll cause a bunch of damage to fenders and anything inside the wheel well. I would actually do what Coloradoboss suggested and run with recovery boards and cat litter.

Man, did you just bring back some memories on why I have not used chains in 45 years or so. You haven't lived until you hear those chains break and partially come loose at 45 or so and start beating the ever loving **** out of your vehicle!

The last thing I ran chains on was a Cat 518 Line Skidder about 30 years ago. It was a two man job to get them on. I had one break and caught it before it wrapper around the axle, thank God!
