Yup... they have been working without issue in the commercial truck world longer than the internet has been around.

Let me guess, aftermarket wheels with "lug centric" rather than "Hub Centric" mounts ?

Not sure who this was in regards to, but I’ve run balance beads in two sets of factory Ram hub centric 17” aluminum rims.

So nice not losing weights after running off-road. Wet clay can be hell on rims.

Directed at the original poster. No argument that beads can work. I am on a crusade to make people aware that most of their "balance" problems are actually due to switching from hub centric wheels to lug centric...joe

I know Ive had my share of lug centric wheel issues. That's why I went with the optional beadlocks to help prevent myself from getting another set and dealing with vibrations. My last set of fuel mavericks I had one of the four that I could never get right and had a high speed vibration for the life of the wheel.

I've been using tire beads for years, they're about as much snake oil as Trump doesn't have orange hair. No they don't have to be balanced already. I use them in my bikes, my GT350 uses them, **** I put them in my little tiny airplane wheels. They work great. For those of us that mount and balance our own tires and wheels, beats the shit out of those stupid ******* weights.

So what kind of speed do you need to get up to before the beads spread out in the tire to actually work?

Look for an industrial tire sealant, not homeowner, and you can really make it worth your while
