I put beads in my K02s because they couldn't get my tires to balance out right. It was far worse with the beads then with weights. At this point I blame the tires and heard some BFG's do have this problem.

I just had some new 35/12.5/17 duratracs mounted on my 14 beadlocks. I requested sticky weights even though the manager insisted on beads, he says he won’t rebalance them if they are off. Wtf I hope these ***** didn’t halfass it!!

This concept has been around for a long time. I had a horrid time balancing Duratracs (34") on my old truck and 6-7 attempts at road force balancing them didn't work. So I briefly considered these, but never actually pulled the trigger.

Keep us posted OP, would be good to have options in case balancing issues pop up. With chunky AT tires, balancing is not always straightforward or guaranteed, particularly as the tires wear and age.

It all boils down how well the balancing machine is calibrated. I used a few shops in my business area and narrowed it down just to one place for my truck tires. End result perfect, no drama, smooth ride.

That stuff is not snake oil.

Those of us with rock crawler running big bias ply tires have been running beads for ages.

I run Airsoft BBs in all my tires. Poor mans ceramic balancing beads.

From my experience, you are incorrect.
You can have too little, but, within reason, not too much. The weight in excess of needed dlstributes evenly and maintains balance.

I have used only beads in 2 sets of 35/12.5/17’s on my previous truck, over 100,000 Kms. They have been smooth, best luck I’ve had with balancing large tires, at all speeds, up to 200km/hr, and in mud and snow conditions.

A big advantage is they compensate and balance when rims get mud or ice build up.
From your " Experience " please explain why all these companies (Ford, GM, BMW, etc. ) invested so much time and MONEY in Machinery plus Manpower to balance each {underline word each }wheel scientifically via machine?
Are you saying ....
A) They got MONEY to waste?
B) They don't know what they doing?
Which is it?!!!!
The premise of putting foreign items inside a wheel to balance it is nothing new. Among the items used are,
1)Sand ... very abrasive, good way to ruin a wheel.
2) Golf Balls ..... fore!
3) Antifreeze ..... yes! Antifreeze.
In the long run, it's just "Snake oil"!!!!!
As Mr Spock would say, " It's illogical "

The only thing illogical is your response.
The goal is to balance the tire. The beads do an excellent job of this. If they didn’t you could call it snake oil, but you are wrong!

An out of balance large tire is very obvious. My experience with beads has been beautifully balanced tires, with no noticed disadvantages. I won’t pull my factory weights off, but will likely go to beads with the next set of tires.

They are very common in balancing large tires, and do a better job of maintaining balance as tires wear.

As far as the why manufacturers don’t use them...ask them. There are countless threads regarding poorly balanced tires from factory, so it is a poor argument. Larger tires are harder to balance and maintain balance, particularly with off-road vehicles. This is why balance beads are commonly used.

Contradicting yourself now!!!
Which is it?
Throwing a 8 oz bag of beads in an unbalanced wheel does not balance the wheel.
Go back and read the OP.
I REST MY CASE!
