Got my wife’s Durango RT ceramic coated about 4 years ago. I have never personally hand washed it since. We take it back to the detailer once a year and have it “reconditioned “. Basically a spray detailer. She only drives it through touch less car washed when she feels like it. No water spots, no swirls, and the shine remains. Best $400 I could spend. Gonna take my Code Orange Gen3 to the same detailer this spring.

cant be the greatest ceramic job for $400. I got quoted $2k. Thats to do paint correction prep the whole truck clay bar polish etc. complete car detail inside and out. everything they can do to remove all swirl marks. They do everything. on the truck wheels fenders. etc. they even do the glass with other products. They need to keep it in the shop to cure 48 hrs, total of 4-5 days start to finish. I saw the cars they had in there everything to Lambo's, Ferraris, Bentleys. They are the goto guys near me. they said the key is the proper Maintenance yearly and never go thru a car wash unless its touchless. hand wash or touchless only. . They also do a yearly re apply after a complete truck detail inside and out. The detail is a $350.00. which is reasonable. they then do recoat of ceramic for $150. the claim is it'll last at least 5 years and most likely 6-7, as long as the proper care and maintenance is done right.

It's all about the brand, and the detailer and how they completed paint correction prior to ceramic coating. I've heard some shops skimping and not doing a proper paint correction first. I've also seem some new brands come on the market at really inexpensive price points.

I personally have used 3 and 5yr feynlab ceramic and wouldn't choose another brand. No dust outside of the first week, no water spots ever, run my vehicles through a touchless and they look brand new every time. I'm on vehicle #4 with feynlab soon to be #5 with this raptor including my super crap paint on our black model s. Completely transformed the tesla.
