Should the letters next to the shifter light up and the cup holders? I fell like they did but mine don't

19s and 20s don't light up for sure. Not sure why you want them too given that it's right in front of your face all lit up on the dash anyway.

Even though it basically useless because it doesn't indicate what gear it is in. It lit up on my last 4 F150s so it's just a pet peeve to some people that are used to it lighting up.

Understandable. But without an indicator in there, the joy of having it lit up, but non functional may be more of a frustration.

Probably more frustrating for people that are new to Ford trucks. But people that have owned other Ford trucks with the console shifter only expect it to light up.

I have a 8/18 build date, have the metal oil pan and cup holder lights but no shift console lights for the gear selector. I am guessing they used all the parts they had till they were gone then switched to the new ones.
