Did you write this up in your build thread? Do you still get sound out of the tyt radio?

Not yet. I have a few things I need to add in their.

It still works flawlessly with the tyt but the switch would not send the stock radio sound to the speaker. Didn't really investigate to much but as Noah said, the speaker is worthless in reference to audio so I'll just let it stay as a VHF speaker.

Hooked the dash speaker up to the Icom directly today. Sounds great. Hopeful that it won't harm the radio. But it's plenty loud and clear.

lol...yes, I did. By harming the radio, I meant the ICOM. From what I've read the ICOM is rated for either a 4 or 8 ohm speaker. So, I think it will be fine.

Debating whether to install a DPDT switch to select between the ICOM and and the truck audio.

What's wrong with the speaker on the Icom radio itself?

Well, I have the radio mounted below the passenger seat and the head mounted on a cup holder mount. So the radio speaker was pretty muffled by the seat. Here's a few pics of the head.

If you get it to work, let me know. Like I said, for some reason when switched to the factory radio I couldn't get sound. I didn't troubleshoot it much. I have to reinstall nav TV once I get my truck back so I may play with it to see what's wrong.

Wish I had been on last week. I did this before TRR last year- just hooked up the ICOM to the center speaker and my PA speaker in case Im out of the truck taking video or pics for other events and it all works great. You will love it!

Is it pretty much plug-n-play or is there a lot of wiring involved?
