Hi, my 19 raptor charge air temps are reaching 60 to 65* C in the heat of summer here.

I'm gonna upgrade to either a Garrett IC or Wagner but not decided yet.

Any how I looked around and on regular F150 removing the shutters will trigger a "soft" code with no CEL, can any one confirm that ?

The Active Grille shutters are controlled and monitored by the PCM. Disconnecting or removing them will generally not cause a CEL, since they are not engine performance/emissions critical. You will, however, have DTCs stored in the PCM.

Their purpose is to improve engine warmup when it's cold, and increase airflow to the heat exchangers when warm.

You can leave the shutter motor plugged in and zip tied out of the way and you won't have any issues.

From what I understood from the f150 ppl, the motor will not find an " end" point, so it will run all the time.

What are you talking about? Have you replaced the IC or not? When you replace the IC, the motor can be removed from the lower shutters and zip tied away. At this point you should test to see if the motor continues to run because it does not find an end point by starting the truck.

I just did the conversion two weeks ago and zip tied up the motors; I’ll check this out and report back.

The motor will continue to cycle back and forth, just unplug it and your GTG!

Confirming that it is moving but super slow. Not sure if the down side... anyone have any far reaching insight? Can’t be using much power and no check engine lights.
