A rational person would look at the reasons why it says not to, and understand that there are automatic car washes that absolutely have the ability to handle the additional tire and track width.

I take mine through weekly. Mostly because it's not practical to wash it year round my self or have it hand washed every week. My truck is white. I would not take a black one through if I could help it. I am more comfortable taking it through than I am leaving salt on it here in Michigan. They do a decent job. I keep a bottle of Adams Polishes waterless wash around to touch it up when they are done. I have been turned away from a couple places. Just ask them if they are comfortable sending it through.

@RDFTS & @Frank N

For the transgression of suggesting someone read the owners manual, a clear and blatant violation of Man Law, you must surrender your man cards.

I have taken mine through an automated car wash about 10 times. I did check with the manager beforehand. He said they do them all the time... just remember to fold the side view mirrors in. When folded in, they clear by about one inch.

I can use my local wash on tracks no problem. But when I switched to a 0 offset wheel, the truck was too wide. The truck would hop the track. If I wasn’t in the truck to steer, it’ll definitely hit the side.

Oh wow I’ve never thought of the wheel offset creating more of a problem, good to keep in mind when looking for wheel options
