Proabably 1/4 of the time when I connect the cord to my iPhone the system doesn't show the CarPlay app. However, it does start charging the phone. I made sure my phone is up to date, and it seems the Sync 3 is up to date. I tried toggling the CarPlay button on Sync 3 on/off, but it does nothing. Sometimes, if I turn the Raptor on/off (if I get a chance at a stop) it starts working, but sometimes that doesn't even work.

Anyone else experience this? Are there any solutions?
(no iPhone jokes please =)

Thanks!

What chord are you using to connect with?

my phone has been doing this since the last ios update on my iphone. I'm thinking it has to do with the update and not our trucks.

iPhone 7plus here and up to date on OS. Can plug in cord anytime truck is on or off and it fires up correctly 99% of the time. 18 Raptor. My wife’s 17 Escalade and her iPhone X had issues. Haven’t tried her X in the Raptor though.

If you haven’t tried this already, unlock your phone. A recent iPhone update prevents the phone from transmitting data via the lightning port if it has been locked for a few minutes. There should be a little notification on your screen if this is the case. I always make sure to unlock my phone right before I plug it in.

Thanks. I’ll try this.

I also have an Apple charging cable as back up in case this happens again so I can test if my aftermarket coiled charging cable is the issue.

I notice the same thing when just plugging it in upon startup, but the random disconnecting is a PIA! Must have something to do with iOS update and lock feature on phone.

Make sure you’re using an actual Apple cord, it sounds silly but my aftermarket one in my other car would stop working intermittently so based on research I dug out the original cord and it fixed the problem.
