I bought a Trak Rack System for my '14 Raptor but realized I did not like how much it conflicted with my tool box. Even though bought the optional tool box mounting kit, that just made it look even worse. So it has been collecting dust in my shop for 9 years now. I started to look at my Gen 3 bed rail cargo tie downs and figured I could do a few MODs to make the rack system work in a way that I feel was more versatile for my needs. Anyway, the MODs included mounting the tiedown plates upside-down to accept the quick release mounts and angle plates for the track rails to sit on. I also made a sliding cross-bar to help secure things like low profile boxes that want to slide around in the bed.
In the end, I'm still able to transport my son's kayak and I think the low mount looks a little better when installed and everything is inside the bed and super sturdy.
Just thought Id share my weekend project.

HAP
