Cargo Lights

Sorry im sure it's something easy, but how do you get the back lights on in the pick up bed when you unlock the truck.

Yep, after searching the forum I'm resurrecting this question since I could only find threads on tapping into the bed lights to install additional lights. Are the lights supposed to come on when you activate the power tailgate or unlock the truck? Is there a button or switch instead? I've never seen mine light up so far.
