Nope. I just tested it. I opened the door, pressed the start button and then the windshield fluid button. Windshield jet and front cam jet came on at the same time. Cam doesn't have to be on.

Thanks guys, didn’t even know there was a camera washer! Only had gotten notice that lens was dirty!!

Where does the notification about the dirty lens show up? I've never seen that. I have a '19.

I’ve had this truck 2 1/2 years and had had no idea there was a washer on the front camera. Just used it and it is sweet. Thanks you guys. Haha

The sprayer is just t spliced from the windshield washer. Every time you use the windshield sprayer it sprays the camera. Also, the “clean camera lens” is referring to the camera in the rear view mirror for the Lane keep assist and auto high beam.

no I just assumed that the only time I seen it was when the camera was on , thinking thats must be how it works .
