New to me 22 AMB Raptor

Hello everyone! Looking forward to trading information with everyone on here.

I’ve recently purchased a NTM 22 Antimatter Blue Raptor. It has 10k miles, and by far the best truck I’ve driven in every single aspect. I come from a GMC 1500 AT4 and before that, F80 BMW M3.

This vehicle has been a lifelong local to my current hometown of Miami.

I can’t stress enough how this truck checks all the boxes, as I’m sure you all on here are well aware, being that you are raptor owners.

Feel free to chime in and give me any advice towards maintenance and mods, as well as things to look out for. I plan to leave it stock, for the most part, aside from maybe adding wheels, and the Eibach springs. As well as adding the tailgate appliqué, which I’m currently modifying to fit correctly.

The only question I have, and it’s only because my GMC didn’t have this is about the underbody corrosion. Would like to get input from you all. Moreso if this amount of corrosion for a vehicle to be normal?

This truck again, shows all history being in Miami, the previous owners never towed anything (trailer hitch is BRAND new), and I don’t see any signs of salt water. The trucks delivery date is Jan of 2023

If you'd like to fix the rust, do it like those of us in the NE. Some steel wool, some rustoleum, and some liquid film. It will take you a couple days to get everything done, but thats all fixable.

I’ve been looking deeper into it, and it seems pretty common among fords. It sucks being that this truck has been in south Florida its entire life, and has this much corrosion. I feel for everyone in the NE belt line states that has a ford. Clearly imperative to apply under coating of some sort.

I keep seeing oil based undercoating as the go-to method.

Other than this, the truck is a f$cking blast. Has great power, tows a decent amount, the comfort is next level, and each individual drive mode really transform the truck. Might be because the AT4 had absolutely nothing to offer in comparison.

The rust thing will just have to be tacked onto my list of preventative maintenance, no biggie.
Plan on keeping this truck for a very long time.


Side note:: can anyone with an antimatter blue, send me an exterior photo of their windshield, if possible. This one came tinted, no sure if I want to keep it that way and would like comparison photos

Its a bit common, but what you have is surface rust...for now. I will say, I'm in PA, had the truck for 2 winters already, and my frame looks like the day I had it delivered. If you get out in front of it, maintaining is pretty easy.
