So why are Ford dealers all over the US flushing the transmission and charging their customers for that service?
Do you mean to suggest that some dealers are doing shady stuff?

No.
Way.

in all seriousness, I can remember 1, and possibly 2 FRF who had this service done and woe was done unto them.

I’ll assume you know that companies like BG Chem give dealers the equipment for free so they can sell their flush formulas for a recurring income stream.

Ford has publications explicitly stating chemical flushing is not recommended.

I had a dealer locally do the transmission fluid and filter at 50K on my truck this fall. After the service was done, the paperwork showed it was a BG flush and new ford filter. This was not disclosed to me when I called to make the appointment. Immediately after the service the trans was shifting poorly and fluid was leaking. Took it back the next day and found out they had over filled the trans, once that was corrected it shifted normally but I am still not happy about the flush being done when I asked for a fluid and filter change. Hopefully this doesn't cause long term issues. The problem I ran into is finding a trusted shop experienced with the 10 speed drain and fill procedure.

That’s it I’m doing mine myself in the very near future and changing out my pan at that time!
