Called dealer to get transmission fluid and filter replaced....they dont do filter?????

Lost my transmission at 64K miles. Pan was full of clutch debris and metal.
So, they do go bad, particularly when they are out of warranty by 3 weeks!
Yes, they do fail, but it's not a common thing AFAIK. When they build 100s of thousands of them, some will have defective parts- you cannot make perfect parts and a profit.

I asked about this in a previous conversation and that was the general guidance. I went as far as discussing with my locals, with a copy of the procedure to be sure we were talking about the same thing. The 10R80 has been good for me, but they are hugely sensitive to fluid level and if the procedure isn’t done right, you get some odd behavior, harsh shifts, etc.
