This is the way it works.
There is a reason they use a big "Name" or big Boobs to promote a product. Everyone knows that there are a lot of similar products out there. KC, Rigid, Baja Designs, Apollo, a variety of Ebay lights, they are all very similar, and present the same functionality. The reason why the have the previously mentioned "assets" marketing the products is to get the first line of attention. It is also the reason they spend so much to build a promotional vehicle. Can you imagine the reaction you would have to Rigid lighting if they used a 87 Yugo to promote their lights? It would probably be a turn off to you, and I suspect that it would be a turn off to me.
There are some people that understand the value of quality equipment, and companies spend millions establishing that reputation, as witnessed by the China Light VS Rigid wars, and they will spend millions more promoting that reputation. The majority of those expenditures are for the people that are uninformed, and need to have the idea that they need "that" put in their head.
As an example, I am certain that many of us have a tablet, like an Ipad, or Android device that we use. It wasn't that long ago that they came out. Really only about 4 or 5 years since Apple popularized them. We could probably easily live without it, except everyone wants one. It is the same with an RPG suspension, Fox shocks, or any of a myriad of other products. But, in order to spark that initial interest, they need something to catch your eye, and as sexy as a shock, or an A-Arm is, for most people, at least those that drive Raptors, their eye is far more pleased buy a couple of Boobs, or someone that has an air of credibility, because they are mentally unstable enough to excel at driving an off road vehicle at speeds that border on insanity across the desert. (No disrespect to Baldwin, or any other off road racer)
After they get the initial interest is when customer service and responding to a customers needs come into play.
