That's where I'm at now. Nothing else interests me at the moment. It sucks that this was my first "attempt" at Ford as a manufacturer. Depending on the depreciation "hit" they offer me along with whatever deal...it will be the make or break with Ford.

geez man. thats alot of time in the shop in a few months. after that much of an ordeal with 5k miles, i wouldnt go back to a ford. i dont think anything has changed in the 2019 drivetrain.

Raptor #2 should be fine. We don't see too many of these buybacks on here, even with the large numbers of Gen 2 guys that are on here. Shit fails, tolerances stack up perfectly against you, its why they have warranties and buyback programs in the first place. Ford is not exclusive in that regard

The buy back offer will likely be MSRP minus the mileage. The mileage deduction will be .10-.15 cents per mile.

From the first reported issue, correct? Gosh I hope so...that puts me at no more than $1k.

Even if the buyback is as stated above, it seems odd to me they would offer you less than MSRP if it is a critical failure on a vehicle under warranty?

Is it taking into consideration you got to enjoy it before it grenaded? An enjoyment tax?

It will be what you paid minus miles plus registration cost and all other out of pocket cost if you go lemon law.

Yep I went thru it. Had a 2017 with Trans Issues. They replaced it with 2018. It was 2017 -2018 MSRP, you are responsible for the cost difference, plus any added options that you add to it, and the tax. My mileage was a nominal, I had the luxury of using my kids cars so I parked the 2017 in the driveway till the 2018 was delivered. The 2017 had 11,000 miles on it. Out the door it cost me 2,400 for a year newer 2018 with 15miles. that included the tax and transfer of tag. Overall not too bad!!!

So they got you with the ending mileage and not the first reported mileage of when the issue occurred? If this is true that they allowed you to keep your 17 till the 18 was delivered...that may solve my issue of being without a vehicle during the transition of a replacement (whether it be an 18 or 19)...and will give me time to remove my upgrades.

and will give me time to remove my upgrades.

Another forum member negotiated with Ford and his dealer to get them to transfer his upgrade items from the old truck to his buy-back truck. It might be worth a shot to see if they will do it for you as part of the package.
