Have you heard of any potential parts shortages?




The salesman said I should get a VIN in the next month. Does that sound accurate to those of you who ordered your trucks this year?

Nope. Last I heard there was no longer any issues due to parts shortages.

Re-read the email from him, it actually said "months from now you will get a VIN". Whoops! I have no idea what a DORA is so it's safe to say I haven't gotten one yet.

DORA stands for Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement

DORA

A DORA is a Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement. It is a printout issued from Ford after ordering. You should get one from your dealer after ordering, and is a good way to verify what has been ordered.

Salesman's response when I asked about a DORA; "Okay, don’t worry about that, that is not even close to a factor with our program and your delivery date. With a delivery date of 10/25 you will not need to worry at all about the timeline. We don’t give out a DORA, because our orders are straight from the factory. We will send out the Order Acceptance typically in a few weeks from the start of the order."

IDK what to tell you on that. You'd have to ask someone who bought thru the same way you ordered yours

I didn't get a DORA. I ordered in midseptember 2012 and was expecting a 3-6 month build time. Truck was built 10-20 I think and had a VIN/windowsticker two weeks before that. I wouldn't worry about it.
