Burning oil.....

I changed my oil today, which was my third oil change. I only got a little over 5 quarts when draining the oil. The first two times I got much closer to the 7 quarts that it requires. I changed the oil at 1000 miles, 4500 miles, and 8000 miles. I used royal purple 5w20 w/ a royal purple oil filter each time. I have not noticed anything out of sorts w/ the truck, and there have been no leaks. I probably should have checked the oil level prior to changing the oil, but I didn't. The only thing I can think of is maybe I burned up some oil during the snoball 500 when pushing the truck a bit. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

5w20 don't sound right ain't it supposed to be 10w30? I would have to look it up but not going to. oil weight is important especially at break in.

2 quarts is excessive, definitely send it in and keep an eye on it. I think 1 quart is still safe according to Ford.

It's never been 10w-30.

5w20 is what is listed in the owners manual and on the oil cap....

my bad it just seemed light I'm used to 15w40 for the tractors and diesel trucks I put 10w30 in the lawnmower, but I have my vehicle's oil changed at the ford garage.

My Raptor has 33K on it and when I change oil I check the dip stick and it is always on the full mark. I use 5-20w Castrol synthetic.

I use the 5-20 Amsoil and in 48k never burned a drop. Not normal--keep a close eye on it..
