I purchased this a a Uhaul store on clearance and it works pretty good. I’ve yet to walk into it and I think I paid $8 for it.

Back in the day I had something like this on my 2001 Excursion. I think I got it from JC Whitney.

I forgot about putting it in the hitch since I never did any towing. Damm thing rusted solid to the inside of the hitch. Had a heck of a time getting it out.

Protect the truck? That's what the bumper is for. This thing is protecting your protection...and only partially if that.
