When looking at the various CAIs offered, I really do not want a open design.
The Bullydog looks like a nice closed design utilizing the bottom of the factory air box and is fully sealed.

Anybody have experience positive or negative on the Bullydog system?

The only performance upgrade I'm thinking about on the motor is the SVC tune, I already have the FRP SPORT CAT BACK.., for airflow intentions.

Thanks guys/gals.

If you look at the last few posts on SVC's Tune thread, post #334 it's stated they like the drop in K&N filter in the stock box.
I would stick to their advice and Tune.

Well, I was thinking that a smooth tube intake track tube would help some increasing flow, as well as a higher flow filter but with a closed design. Bully dog was the only one I saw that was fully closed like the stock.

I agree though, I'm going to stay stock.

My next question is does anyone know of a higher flow paper filter than stock? I don't want an oil one but would like a high quality paper drop in that matches stock filter for filtration but flows more due to depth of element or more surface area of filter.

Thanks guys !

Smooth tube actually will cause friction and turbulence. Think of a golf ball

All I want to know is if there are some stock size great quality high flow paper filters available aftermarket. I've looked but all I can find are the big round Donaldson type like I had on my 7.3 diesel. Nothing that fits in the stock airbox.

Thanks

If you look at flow theory in pipes your statement does not make sense. Relating it to a golf ball to a pipe is not comparing apples to apples.

Im going off my years of experience in the jet turbine industry. We never leave any surface smooth inside the compressors because it restricts flow and cooling and creates friction to the air flow thus slowing down the flow through the engine.

Since you can never have ideally smooth surface per fluid dynamics equations, we account for this by creating a "smooth" surface with dead air, and allowing the rest to flow smoothly.

Sounds correct to me, I know there are all sorts of things they do to increase flow and reduce friction on our compressor gas seals.
