Pretty sure the '14 was under the seat and the '15 and newer is behind the seat. Probably a similar setup but different in a few ways.

True for sure, but I still would think it is a basic plug and play as it was on the '14 just a new mounting location. I could be totally wrong too and if so, I will pass - again I didn't think it was a night and day difference between the two. Only marginally better. I only bought it because of chatter on f150 forum that listed a dealer selling for really good price out of Florida.

I have the JL before on my truck, it was so good for the size of it, it gives me headaches after about 10 mins that I have to turn it down, I'm getting old.

I have a 10" W7 now in a 4runner and it has some power :) doesn't compare with the three JL W3 12" I had a long time ago but I don't really want/need a system capable of making my passengers sneeze when the bass hits [emoji23]

The 13TW5v2 seems it will be enough to hit the lows and give good sounds for the tiny space it needs compared to the W7 which takes a ton of space.

I'm actually a bit surprised. I built as close to the equivalent to my 14' as I could and it is only a little over $4k more. I figured it would be closer to $10K.

As for the Sony sub, I stuffed the sub under the back seat with a bit of pillow stuffing around the edges and it made a decent different with the bass. Super simple to do and it cost maybe $3 at the most. The enclosure for the new sub behind the seat looks a lot like the sub behind the seat of my 08 Super Duty and you couldn't do much with it but replace it unfortunately.

The SONY sub woofer comes with 802A, not the Kicker. I did a lot of reading on upgrading this Sony sound system and the Kicker is not compatible with this SONY system head unit. For those not ordering the 802A Sony sound system there is a nice Kicker upgrade along with a bigger amp.

2015-2016 F150 Kicker VSS PowerStage Powered Subwoofer & Amp Kit PF150SC15

From Stage3

The main issue is that the Digital Signal Processor in the Kicker Amplifier included for the door speakers is not fully compatible with the Sony System head units, and would need custom wiring and potentially other components in order to work properly. The secondary issue is that the Sony door speaker amplifier is located on the Sony Subwoofer enclosure that the Kicker unit replaces.

Thanks for clarifying, In all my ocd recon I have not looked at the stereo/sound part at all. Pretty sad the $10k package in a $65k truck doesn't add the best avail sub lol

I actually now have more Qs about it, but will move that to the electronics section.

Am I crazy to want to get a SCREW with the lux package and a few options(tech package, heated wheel, rear seats, twin panel moon) with a $15k down payment and get a monthly payment around $800-$900?

Credit is above 800 points. With a 1.9% loan, that puts me around $888. Am I insane at hoping that is a possibility?

Don't leverage your future like this. Save your money, sacrifice the right way, then reward yourself.
