broken coil

came home to this- I have been hearing a thumping sound from front end- it has been in shop twice and I spent an hour looking my self- now I know. Let loose in driveway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but are you not the second person who's posted this exact same thing happening? Also seems to be 2017-2018 model years. Wonder if others not on forums have had the same?

How many miles on the springs ? Good excuse to upgrade now.

This happened to me not too long ago, except it was the passenger side. Still can’t wrap my head around how it slips off the perch like that.

Spring "tapers" down in diameter for the perch. It broke at the taper and the coils above the taper are larger then the perch.

Same thing happened to me going over a tiny slump in the road. Did Ford give you anything back on it? Seems like a crazy failure mode for an "off-roading" suspension
