My truck isn't here yet like the rest of us but on all my previous trucks I've always removed the driver door handle & key cylinder and replaced with another blank door handle.

For the raptor, I've ordered a passenger front door handle which has the smart access button on the door handle. Just received the part this morning, and at first glance, the door lock button on the passenger handle will be upside down once transferred over to the drivers side. Will try to flip the button later tonight or transfer the driver door access button to the new passenger door handle during installation. I also noticed there is a plastic cylinder block plate that will also need to find the part number for. This will be needed once you remove the door cylinder for the drivers side. See pictures below

I'll update this and put something together will all the part numbers once I get it figured out.
Did you ever get all of the part numbers to make the PD handle swap?

My truck delivered last night. I'll be installing the handle and making swap today. You also need the key cylinder block plate. I'll post the part number and pictures.

Let us know how it goes with the redesign of the handle…whether that’s gonna be a pita or not.

I’ll start out by saying it’s going to be a PITA unless there’s something I’m missing.

I installed the new door handle from the passenger side onto the drivers side. No issue there. The problem is now removing the key cylinder. I can’t seem to pry it out or access it from inside the door handle. It looks as if the key cylinder and cylinder holder would require removing additional items just to access it.

Good news is the new door handle covers right over the key cylinder still so I left it on. I’ll spend more time on it later to see if I can figure it out.

Update:

Turns out I was missing something. Big thanks for @FordTechOne for the help!

The same 5mm bolt used to undo the door handle also loosens the door lock cylinder. Use a plastic pry tool after loosening the bolt and it will pop right out. This will take a little bit force to get it out though. Reinstall new Cap - Door Locking Mechanism (ML3Z-15218A14-AA), reinstall door handle and tighten down the bolt.

Maybe I’m missing something, but if you’ve installed a passenger handle on the drivers side or disabled the lock rods, what do you do if the battery dies? How would you get into the truck to pop the hood?
